Bishop Teman L. Bostic, Sr., is the eldest of five siblings born to the late Deacon Leon Bostic and Dr. H.L. Bostic. He received his early education in Menlo Park and Palo Alto, CA. He was raised in the church, the hand of God being upon him at a young age. He was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost during a revival May 10, 1983, at Mt. Olive ran by Evangelists Smith and Bland, and his mother, Dr. H.L. Bostic. As God would have it, Dr. H.L. Bostic was saved in her youth at a revival in Mobile, Alabama, ran by the same Evangelists.

Bishop T acknowledged and accepted the predestinated Call of God upon his life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1984. Bishop T is a man of faith and has exemplified faith from his youth. God has gifted Bishop T in many areas of ministry: music, administration, preaching, teaching, etc. He has showed his dedication to the church holding many offices at Mt. Olive over his lifetime. He has served as a musician, Sunday school teacher, deacon, trustee, minister, Elder, and District Elder.

In November 1994 with the support of his pastor, Dr. H.L. Bostic, Bishop T founded and organized Word, Power, and Praise Family Community Church (Fremont, CA). As pastor of Word Power and Praise, Bishop T and the congregation took a leading role both in the spiritual, educational and social advancement of the community through the various ministries and services program they offered. Bishop T was elevated to the office of Bishop over the Western District (including California, Oregon, Washington, Mississippi and Nevada) of the Apostolic Original Holy Church of God, Inc. in July 1998.

In 1998, he received the Humanitarian Award and his Associate of Arts degree in Theology, both from Dr. Hardy Academy of Theology in Seattle, Washington. He later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.

Bishop T has always been active in community outreach. He coached a local community basketball team in Fremont, CA (the Jaguars, 2003 champions). He is an active member of the NAACP in Oakland CA, and a former member of the San Lorenzo Rotary Club. He was the President and CEO of the Word, Picture, and Play Productions (WPP Productions). Bishop T also served on the Board of Directors of Crime Prevention Narcotics Drugs Educational Center (CPNDEC) in Menlo Park, CA, working with the aftercare programs for recovering women. He also coached the CPNDEC community basketball team annual charity games against the players of the SF 49ers football team.

His current and past outreach ministries include but are not limited to:

  • Ministry in hospitals, convalescent homes, and prisons throughout the Bay Area
  • Served as Chaplain of the Tri-City Village and Second Chance homeless shelters in Fremont, CA
  • Former Chaplain of Stanford and Kaiser Hospitals in-patient programs
  • Current President of the Crime Prevention Narcotics Drugs Educational Center (CPNDEC), Menlo Park, CA

Through a dream, God laid on Bishop T’s heart to return to Mt. Olive under the leadership of his mother. In obedience he returned and has been instrumental in implementing programs and projects in support of her vision. His beloved mother and pastor, Dr. H.L. Bostic, transitioned this life on December 9, 2011, to be with the Lord. Bishop T has been passed the mantle from Dr. H.L. Bostic and endeavors by the grace of God to embrace her legacy and build upon the vision she had for the kingdom of God.

“Not for money, not for fame, the Gospel made plain in Jesus’s name!"

Bishop T’s greatest desire is to help men and women embrace Salvation and develop their purpose in God. Building up the vineyard that God has given him responsibility over by the leading of the Holy Ghost, standing on the Word, as said in Proverbs 3:6, in all they ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
